The short answer

Which Jacques Marie Mage necklaces hold glasses?

JMM describes Bolin, Thierry, Titus Small and Titus Large as eyewear necklaces or eyewear hitches. Their holder openings distinguish them from necklaces chosen solely as decorative jewellery.

Bolin combines leather straps with a leather-wrapped metal holder. Thierry uses a circular pendant, while the two Titus versions have an elongated pendant with an oval opening. The right choice involves both the appearance you prefer and suitability for your particular glasses.

01 · Bolin

A leather-led eyewear necklace

Bolin uses a stirrup-shaped metal holder wrapped in calfskin, paired with leather straps. JMM lists Italian manufacture, hand-painted leather edges and an arrowhead detail.

It is the leather-led option among these four designs. Consult the selected version for its metal finish, listed length and care instructions rather than assuming that every colourway is identical.

02 · Thierry

A circular pendant and snake chain

Thierry takes a jewellery-led approach, with a circular eyewear holder, double-arrowhead detailing and engraved decoration. JMM describes the Electrum version using sterling silver with gold-plated detailing and a sterling-silver snake chain.

Its circular silhouette offers a different visual character from Bolin. Appearance alone does not establish whether the opening will suit the temple of your glasses.

03 & 04 · Titus

Titus Small and Titus Large

Both Titus versions are described by JMM as elongated eyewear pendants with an oval opening, engraved linework and a sterling-silver Cuban chain. Their rectangular outer shape offers another approach to the holder silhouette.

Check measurements, not just the size name

The official descriptions retrieved for this guide did not specify the internal opening dimensions or enough measurements to establish the practical fit difference. Ask JMM or the retailer to confirm these against your frame. These photographs show different finishes and are not a measured size comparison.

Before choosing

What matters when using a necklace to hold glasses?

An eyewear necklace is intended for the intervals when glasses come off: moving between reading and conversation, for example. It still needs to suit the particular frame and the way you use it.

  1. Check the holder opening. Ask whether your folded frame and temple shape suit the specific design. Do not force a temple through an opening.
  2. Check the wearing position. Confirm the listed length and whether adjustment is available. Consider where the glasses would sit when you bend or sit down.
  3. Look for a clear demonstration. Follow the maker’s instructions for inserting and removing eyewear. A product photograph does not establish universal fit.
  4. Consider contact points. Look at where your frame would rest against the holder, clothing and body. We have not tested these JMM designs for movement or frame contact.
  5. Keep a case for storage. A necklace is not a protective case for bags, transport or situations where glasses may be knocked.

If you want eyewear to stay attached while it is on your face, read our comparison of glasses chains, cords and independent necklaces .

Made to wear · Designed to carry

One deliberate detail.
An everyday role.

  • Let the frame stand on its own. The necklace stays separate while you wear your glasses, with no chain ends attached to the temples.
  • Choose where it sits. A single rear sliding adjuster lets you fine-tune the wearing position. Remove the glasses before adjusting.
  • Keep the look considered. Black braided nylon, stitched PU leather detailing and a matte-black loop create a coordinated finish.
  • Put it away with care. A branded black drawstring pouch is included for storing the necklace.

The Signature was developed with thicker acetate-style glasses and sunglasses in mind. The loop measures 31 mm across its internal width and 38 mm in overall height. Suitability depends on your frame’s shape and temple thickness; compatibility with every JMM frame is not established.

Ownership and lens care

Carrying and cleaning are separate jobs

An eyewear necklace changes how you carry glasses between wears. Lens care still depends on the lenses fitted to your frames and their manufacturer’s instructions.

Our Jacques Marie Mage cleaning cloth guide explains the role of a clean optical cloth. For collecting and ownership, see our JMM limited-edition guide .

Do not apply lens-cleaning products to leather or jewellery unless the maker explicitly recommends them. Follow each necklace’s own care guidance.

Questions about JMM eyewear necklaces

Is every Jacques Marie Mage necklace a glasses holder?

No. This guide covers four products explicitly described by JMM as eyewear necklaces or hitches. Check the description of any other necklace rather than assuming it is designed to carry glasses.

Does Titus Large fit thicker glasses than Titus Small?

We cannot establish that from the published descriptions retrieved. Request internal opening measurements and advice for your frame from JMM or the retailer.

Is The Signature made by Jacques Marie Mage?

No. The Signature is a separate Barroccu & Co. product. Barroccu & Co. is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jacques Marie Mage.

Can I use The Signature with JMM glasses?

Suitability depends on your individual frame shape and temple thickness. Review our product measurements and demonstration. We do not claim compatibility with all JMM models.
