Glasses Chains for Women: Discover an Eyewear Necklace Alternative
Choosing an eyewear accessory starts with a simple question: would you want to wear it?
If you are exploring glasses chains for women, you may be looking for more than somewhere to hang your frames. The material, shape and appearance matter too. It is an accessory that becomes part of what you wear.
The Signature by Barroccu & Co. offers a different option: an all-black eyewear necklace with a braided cord and a distinctive triangular holder. It stays separate from your glasses while you wear them.
November 2026 launch planned · Currently unavailable to order. Launch is subject to stock arrival and final checks.
Choosing the accessory
What draws you to a glasses chain?
A fine metal chain, a strand of beads and a bold linked design each bring something different to eyewear. You might want a jewellery-like detail beside your face, a visible statement, or a practical accessory with a quieter appearance.
If the appeal is a piece you can wear around your neck, without keeping a chain attached to the arms of your glasses, an independent holder necklace is worth considering.
That is the approach behind The Signature. Its black cord and central triangular loop give it a different visual character from a conventional linked or beaded glasses chain. The question is whether that character feels like you.
01 · Colour
An all-black palette.
The cord, holder and loop keep to a single colour. If you prefer black accessories to gold, silver or colourful beads, this gives you another direction to explore.
02 · Shape
A defined central detail.
The matte-black triangle sits at the front of the necklace. It is both the visible feature and the opening through which one folded temple of your glasses is placed.
03 · Appearance
A necklace in its own right.
When your glasses are on your face, the holder remains empty. Consider both appearances: the necklace alone and the necklace carrying your eyewear.
An accessory you choose
Look at the necklace. Then look at the glasses.
Eyewear brings its own colour, shape and proportions. A substantial acetate frame creates a different combination with a holder necklace from a fine metal frame.
The Signature brings together a 5 mm braided nylon cord, a black holder detail and a matte-black triangular loop. The result is a cord-based accessory with a clear central shape, rather than a line of decorative links.
The lifestyle images show the design with glasses and sunglasses. Use them to consider the overall appearance; individual frame suitability still needs checking.

The difference in use
Attached chain or independent holder?
Appearance is only part of the decision. These two approaches involve different ways of carrying your glasses.
Traditional glasses chain
Connected to your frames.
A conventional glasses chain normally attaches to both spectacle arms. It remains connected while you wear your glasses and lets them hang from the chain when removed.
This may suit you if you want the accessory to remain attached throughout the day.
The Signature Eyewear Necklace
Separate until you need the holder.
The necklace is worn independently. After removing and folding your glasses, you guide one temple through the triangular loop. Lift it out when you want to wear your glasses again.
This may suit you if you prefer to wear your glasses without an attached chain or cord.
The Signature shown here is an independent holder, not an attached chain. For the fuller explanation, read glasses chain, cord or necklace: which is right for you?
See the movement
From glasses on to glasses carried.
Watch the existing Signature demonstration to see the holder in use. Placing your glasses into the loop is a deliberate action after you remove them.
The movement is demonstrated visually. For written steps, see the illustrated Signature usage guide.
The details
What you are choosing.
The Signature combines a continuous braided nylon cord, a black PU leather front detail and a matte-black triangular loop. A sliding adjuster sits at the rear.
It measures 46.5 cm overall. The rear adjuster allows the wearing position to be fine-tuned; remove your glasses from the holder before making an adjustment.
Check your frames before choosing. The Signature was developed with thicker acetate-style glasses and sunglasses in mind. Suitability depends on the individual frame; very thin wire frames may be less suited to the loop.
A carrying accessory between wears, rather than protective eyewear storage.

Before you choose
A few buying questions.
Is The Signature designed only for women?
No. The Signature is unisex. This article introduces it to women considering glasses chains, but the design is available to anyone whose eyewear and preferences suit it.
Is it a metal eyeglass chain?
No. The Signature is a cord-based eyewear necklace with an independent triangular holder. It does not attach to both spectacle arms like a traditional eyeglass chain. If you specifically want linked metal or continuous attachment to your frames, that is a different choice.
Can I consider it for reading glasses or sunglasses?
Yes, provided the individual frame suits the holder. The Signature was developed around thicker acetate-style glasses and sunglasses. Check the product measurements and demonstration against your own frames; compatibility is not universal.
Can I order The Signature now?
Not yet. Launch is planned for November 2026, subject to stock arriving and passing final checks. The Signature and Carry & Care remain unavailable to order until fulfilment is ready. See the product page for the current availability information.

If an all-black necklace with a separate glasses holder appeals to you, The Signature is an option to explore alongside traditional glasses chains.
