Everyday use
Start with a clean surface.
For normal fingerprints, facial oils and light contamination, use the cloth dry with gentle pressure.
The oversized 43 × 30 cm format gives you significantly more clean material than a small spectacle cloth. As one section picks up oils or contamination, move to a fresh area rather than repeatedly wiping with the same part.
For heavier contamination, a suitable lens-cleaning solution may be used where appropriate. Always follow any specialist care guidance provided by the manufacturer of the eyewear, coating or optical equipment being cleaned.
Before wiping, make sure both the cloth and optical surface are free from loose grit or abrasive debris.
When to wash
Let the cloth tell you.
There is no fixed number of uses before a cloth needs washing. What matters is how much oil, dust and contamination it has collected.

Oils appear to move around the lens rather than lift cleanly.

Recommended care routine
Hand washing, step by step.
Hand washing is a simple way to clean your Barroccu & Co cloth while keeping the process controlled.
Use lukewarm water and only a small amount of mild, fragrance-free soap or detergent.
Step 02
Wash gently
Work a small amount of mild fragrance-free soap or detergent through the cloth.
Step 03
Rinse thoroughly
Rinse until the water runs clean and no washing product remains in the cloth.
Step 04
Prepare to dry
Remove excess water gently and allow the cloth to air dry completely.
Machine washing
Keep the wash simple.
Machine washing can also be used when appropriate. The priority is to avoid products or laundry conditions that can leave residue on the microfibre.

Use a gentle wash and follow the care instructions supplied with the cloth.

Use only a small amount of mild, fragrance-free detergent.

Do not use fabric softener or bleach.

Where possible, keep the cloth away from heavily lint-producing laundry.

Allow the cloth to air dry completely before returning it to its pouch.
After washing
Dry completely. Store cleanly.
Drying
Let it air dry.
After rinsing, gently remove excess water and allow the cloth to air dry fully.
Do not return a damp cloth to its pouch. Wait until the material is completely dry.
Storage
Return it to its pouch.
Once completely dry, store the cloth in its Barroccu & Co pouch.
Keeping the cleaning surface separate from loose dust, lint and everyday items helps reduce unnecessary contamination between uses.
What to avoid
A few things to leave out.
Fabric softener
Avoid it when washing the cloth because it can leave residue on microfibre.
Bleach
Do not use bleach when washing your Barroccu & Co cloth.
Heavy fragrance
Choose mild, fragrance-free washing products where possible.
Loose grit
Do not wipe an optical surface while visible loose grit or abrasive debris remains present.
Damp storage
Allow the cloth to dry completely before placing it back into its pouch.
When to replace
Care well. Replace when needed.
A microfibre cloth does not need replacing simply because it has been washed repeatedly.
Consider replacement when washing no longer restores good cleaning performance, when contamination cannot be removed satisfactorily, or if the material becomes physically damaged.
If a freshly washed cloth continues to smear or redistribute oils, first check that it has been rinsed thoroughly and is completely dry before deciding whether replacement is necessary.
